This post is dedicated to my parents David and Cindy, to my English teachers from elementary to high school, and to my Aunt Jennie and Granny. All of these people have always encouraged me to continue to write. To keep up with my poetry and short stories. They have all been a big influence in my life and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Their encouragement has pushed me to be the writer that I have become. To continue to use my never ending imagination to write my poetry and stories. They all saw my passion for writing at a young age and always told me to never let it slip away. And I’m glad that they kept reminding me everyday. Otherwise, I would have just stayed writing in my journal and never branched out. I’m not going to lie, even though I am 23, I still write in a journal. I keep certain things to myself and share specific things with everyone else. That’s just the type of writer and person that I am.
My parents always encouraged me to have a creative writing space, especially growing up. They had gotten me desks and bookshelves, turning my bedroom into a mini library of my own. Which always took me into different
worlds when I began to write.
I’m extremely grateful for everyone who has ever encouraged my writing and imagination. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I love you all.
