Over 80% of the population has stretch marks. Both men and women. And at all ages. It is something that happens to everyone. It’s something everyone will deal with for the rest of our days.
I have stretch marks, my brother has stretch marks, all of my friends and even the people I have run into has stretch marks. There are even models who have stretch marks, but they are messed with by photoshop to make it seem like there were never stretch marks to begin with.
Why? Why should we be shamed of our stretch marks?
In my honest opinion, we shouldn’t be ashamed of having stretch marks. They are a part of our journey. They are a part of who we are. Due to modern medicine actually making me gain weight, I had gained my stretch marks. And once I had gotten off of the medicine, I lost the weight and still have my stretch marks. I am not going to be ashamed of my body. I’m not going to be ashamed of having stretch marks. I’ve learned to embrace them, just as much as I have learned to embrace my thick waist with thick thighs and calves.
Love your body. Love your stretch marks.
