Silent Screams (Poem)

She said, “Honey, where are you going?”
“What are you doing up so late?”
He looked her with tear filled eyes.
Kissed her on the cheek and said his goodbyes.

She stood by the door with confusion in her eyes.
Her whole world shut down.
Feels like the boat capsized.
Closes her eyes and starts counting down the minutes.

I hope she doesn’t do anything rash.
Sometimes things like this happens.
Her mascara runs through her eyelashes.
I can’t read her mind,
But I now have a feeling.
No one can hear silent screams.
It’s hard to find yourself in the silence.
