Book Club: November

For the month of November, the selected book is called, “The Shack” by William P. Young.
It’s about a father named Mack who has five children, loses his youngest daughter to the serial killer “Little Ladykiller”. The police find the daughter’s bloody clothes in a shack, but her body is not found. Mack then goes into a deep depression. One day, he goes to his mailbox and finds a letter from a person named “papa”. Mack assumes it is from God.
Then after a while, Mack decides to go back to the shack to see if he can find anything that could link it to his daughter. Before he leaves the shack, everything changes around him. And then he is greeted by the holy trinity. God is the form of a black woman named Elouisa or papa. Jesus is a middle eastern carpenter. And the holy spirit is an Asian lady named Sarayu. He has many conversations with them.
They talk about his daughter and realizes where she is.

If you want to know more about this book, you will have to check it out. I loved this book, and I highly recommend it to everyone. Yes, it is a Christian based book, but you don’t have to be religious to enjoy this book. I’m not a Christian, yet I loved every second of it.
