All around the world there are people who suffer from insomnia, my brother being on of them. Having insomnia is not a lot of fun, in fact it could ruin your whole entire body system when you don’t get enough sleep. When a person does not get a lot of sleep, they will end up becoming very anxious.
Scutellaria lateriflora, better known as skullcap is the perfect herb to take when dealing with insomnia. The reason why scutellaria lateriflora, skullcap, is such a great herb is because of it being a natural gentle sedative and also a nerve tonic. It has been used to help relieve any anxiety a person may have and also because of the affects it has on insomniacs.
The best way to take this herb, is to digest it as a tea. The typical dosage of scutellaria lateriflora is 1 cup of tea (steep 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried herb in 1 cup of hot water for ten minutes). Or if you want to take a different route, you can take the herb as a tincture, (20 to 40 drops with water). The best time to take this would be thirty minutes before bedtime, this is due to the fact that it needs a few minutes to settle into your body and to disperse its natural and healthy parts in your stomach and nervous system.
