Meditation: Whispering Waves


Sit in your chair or lay down on a couch or the bed and get comfortable. If you are sitting in a chair, bring your legs up and cross them in the lotus pose, rest your hands on your lap, and close your eyes. If you are laying down, lay in the corpse pose with your palms facing upwards, and your head relaxed on a pillow with your eyes closed. Take a deep breath in, and breathe out. Focus on your breathing. As you are doing this, your body is getting light weight and your heart chakra is opening up. Take a few more deep breaths, in and out. Now your soul has traveled out of your body and into the astral plane, you can see it in your mind. Let your soul journey to the ocean, watch as it flies through the winds and listen to the whispers of the wind as you fly high.

You have now come upon the ocean, below you see the deep green water and the millions of fish that swim about. Dive into the ocean and submerge yourself. As your soul does this, take a deep breath in and out. Take another deep breath, this time as you do this the water will bring you gently up to the surface and place you on a rock in the middle of the ocean. Your soul sits there, you are aware of your surroundings. You see the green waves tumble towards you with its frothy bubbles surfacing, you see the dolphins swimming about, and you see the gray clouds hovering above you.

As you sit on the rock, your soul fashions itself into a lotus pose. Take a deep breath in and out, suddenly the green waves get bigger than before. They tumble at you and suddenly envelope you in its sweet embrace. Let the waves continue to fall onto you, let the waves cleanse your soul and your chakras. The waves pull back slowly, creating a serene look around you, then they raise up once again and tumble down onto your soul, wiping away all of the toxins, all of the negative thoughts and feelings you harbor. The waves replace those toxic thoughts and feelings with positivity, love, life, and a new answer you’ve been looking for. As the waves pull back for the final time, your soul stays on the rock for a moment and then takes off back into the sky.

Your soul journeys back to you through the sky, finally coming back within seconds and placing itself back inside of you. Slowly open your eyes, and lay or sit there for a few minutes. Don’t move yet. Let the reminder of the waves rush through the rest of your body and listen to what it had said to you. After a few minutes of listening to the whispering waves, you may sit up or even stand. Write down what you saw, what you felt, and what you have now learned of yourself and of what the waves have told you.
