October’s Kiss (Poem)

Her dark silhouette was all that he could see,
for the moon’s bright rays were hidden by the trees.
He stood there in silence,
with his heart beating rapidly.
His palms began to sweat,
as he planned his next move carefully.
Even in the darkness,
her inner beauty glowed.
She was the one,
his heart told him so.
Stepping closer next to his beloved,
he wrapped his arms around her.
Leaned his face down,
and gave her a smile through the darkness.
The moon was just right,
the wind blew gently,
they shared their first kiss,
knowing more would follow later.
