Shores of Alaska (Poem)

7f369970a12a095219050ce4144a3438The snow falls down,
Gently placing itself on the pier beneath my feet,
While it melts from the instant touch of the sea.
The clouds hug the night sky,
While all of the stars say goodbye,
As I stare blankly into the dark sight before me.
It is always like this,
Every winter since the dawn of time,
Yet it does not faze me,
For I welcome it into my life.
