The Personal Growth we go Through

This year I will be turning 26, and while I am off exploring my new home state (Alaska) for the next couple of years, I will be learning more about myself as I go. About two years ago, I wrote a post about knowing yourself, and knowing that you are ever growing, and that couldn’t be even more true. Because every day, every month, and every year we are learning more about ourselves as we continue on in this life. Think back, are you the same person you were three or ten years ago, no, you were not. You have changed in many ways, and some of those ways may be subtle, nevertheless, you’ve changed. Now, the changes you’ve gone through don’t affect your overall personality, quirks, or who you are in general, it just means that you’ve matured in the sense of your personality. I know that I’ve changed in the past ten years, and that doesn’t scare me at all, in fact, it helps me embrace who I am as a person.

Growing up, I ‘ve always been known as the hippie child or granola child amongst my friends and family, because I would refuse to eat meat, bring stray animals home (tried to bring a snake home once, my mom was not having that), talked about utopia and love, put flowers in my messy curls; my personality was all about love, peace, and equality, and it still is. My personality is still like that, however it has matured on another level, and I embrace it. Because it is who I am. I don’t eat red meat or poultry at all now, and I get my source of protein from fish, eggs, and various nuts (except peanuts – I’m allergic), and vegetables. I still hug the trees, rescue animals from horrible living conditions, don’t follow any religion – however I am spiritual, and live a nomadic/hygge life of moving around to different places to continue my writing and helping others.

Personal growth, spiritual growth, mental growth, emotional growth, are all very important in our lives, for they are part of our own path’s and purposes in this life. We must allow for the growth to occur, let ourselves mature, and take us on these detours throughout our life. That is what makes it so fun.

Standing With Mother Earth

Here we are, in 2017, with a brand new president and vice president to run the United States, while also bringing new presidents around the world to their first terms as presidents (congratulations to Tsai Ing-wen for becoming the first female president of Taiwan!). While here in America, a good majority of us (including myself) are preparing for things to even get worse (it already hit the fan with the temporary ban on Muslims from entering our country), our new elected president Donald Trump has recently signed a document letting the Dakota Access Pipeline to go ahead and destroy the earth with its pipeline that is running through the Dakota’s.

Seeing our precious earth becoming more and more of a landfill, than what it is supposed to be (an ecological, sustainable, graced with hills of luscious green grass, trees, and wildlife). Turning this planet into a waste dump is not what it is meant for. It is not used for greedy corporations to make their “mark” on this land, it is not for chemical induced products to be placed into the grounds, the very grounds that we walk on, grow food, and raise our own families on, is for us to have a healthy and long living life; all the while following our passions and dreams.

More and more pipelines being produced and being forced into the ground, we will see the earth dwindle away to nothing but a concrete jungle of skyscrapers and mansions. All the trees that provide us with warmth, shelter, and oxygen are being taken down and thrown away as if they were garbage, the food that we tend to grow into the soil of the earth is being contaminated by the chemicals that everyone is dumping into the lands below our feet, and the wild animals that roam the planes and mountains are disappearing due to greedy poachers who only care about making a quick dollar. We are living in a time where we are giving the future generations absolutely nothing, we are living in a time where we are allowing corporations destroy the earth and its inhabitants one day at a time.

So, instead of giving them a concrete jungle and no world to play in, we need to be making this place we call home healthier, more sustainable, and capable of having humans and the entire animal kingdom living on it for thousands of years to come.

Meditation: Garden of Your Soul

Mosaic Garden Path

Turn on your preferred meditation music, and get comfortable by either sitting down in the lotus position or laying on down on your back. Close your eyes and sink into your position, as the music washes over your entire being. As the music makes its way gently into your mind, your mind will be cleared of any toxic and negative energy, and you will then become lightheaded.

At this time, your mind will dive into another world, a place where it will lead you to your final destination. In your third eye and in your mind, you will see yourself standing on the pier, overlooking dark waters. The dark waters whisper to you to take a dip, go ahead and take that dip into the smooth dark waters and let your body float down to the bottom. Before you can reach the bottom of the ocean, a bright light will make its appearance, seducing you to swim to it. Swim over to the bright light and feel your body being pulled through, the weight of your body has been reduced to feeling as though you are light as a feather. Once you are pulled all the way through, you will find yourself in the middle of a dirt path. You look down and you are now in a brightly colored outfit that suits your personality, and you feel ever so free to be your true self.

As you walk down the dirt path, you can see something coming into view, it is a temple, but this temple resembles your inner soul, your place that you can call home. Look at the details of it, remember the way it makes you feel, feel the energy coming from it and let it soak into your soul. Remembering these things will bring you closer to home, in your heart and soul.

Make your way into the temple, and walk about the smooth floor with your bare feet, and absorb the energy coming from the temple into your body. As you walk about the temple, you look outside, and there you see is a garden that resembles your complete home of your inner self. Walking outside and into the garden, you feel the delicious sensation of grass touching your feet. The sweet perfume coming from the flowers fill the air around you, making your mouth water. As you walk around the garden, while you smell the delicious air, and feel the tree leaves brush up against your skin, you hear something behind you. Turning around you see an animal presenting itself to you, knowing that it will not hurt you or you hurt it, you walk closer to the animal ever so cautiously. The animal rubs up against you and a sensation runs through your body. For some unknown reason, you know this animal, you know that it is apart of you. Suddenly the animal guides you around the garden, no words are needed for this conversation between the two of you. For your minds are connected, just as your hearts and souls are too. You realize that this animal is your spirit animal, one that guides you and protects you. You let yourself go, and put yourself into the animal’s control, letting it help you throughout your life and never letting you go. The animal leaves your sight, leaving you in the garden. Suddenly, you feel a tug on your body, making you realize it is time to come back. You walk through the temple once more, to find yourself on the dirt path. You walk up the dirt path, to where you had first arrived, then the bright light reappears to pull you back in. You find yourself in the dark waters once more, so you begin to swim. You reach the surface of the water, and find yourself wading back and forth. You know you don’t need to reach the pier, so you slowly wake from your meditation, bringing you back to reality.

Endangerment: Rhino

Rhino’s are some of the most magnificent creatures on this planet, they are complex, mysterious, agile, and for the most part they are pretty peaceful. However they are becoming extinct in South Africa, this is due to poachers killing them off for their horns that contain ivory. These poachers are actually illegal and are not even to be going near any animal at all, but they do not care about the animals and their extinction, they only care about the money and obtaining a lot of it. Back in 2014, poachers had killed more than 1,200 rhinos that year alone, and each year that number continues to get higher and higher. What makes this whole situation worse, is that the government wants to make poaching legal, which makes me want to vomit. If poaching is made legal, and more rhinos in particular are killed off from the plains from South Africa, the price will plummet and all of the poachers will be running rampant to find more rhinos in other areas of the world and killing them off there too.

There was a brief period in 2008, where poaching for ivory was made legal. Horrifying enough, when this had happened, all of the poachers had gone on a rampage and nearly killed off every rhino known to existence and tried to collect as much ivory as they could to make a quick buck. Thankfully, the government got their heads out of their rear ends and made it illegal once again. However, with the government even thinking about making it legal again, it is bound to bring upon destruction among the rhino community. All of them will be wipe off the face of the earth and we will no longer be graced with their existence. We cannot let the government make poaching legal again, we have to stop them from doing so. Make them see that making it legal will bring about the death of the entire race of the rhino, and quite honestly we do not want the rhino to go extinct whatsoever. On top of that, legalizing poaching will be basically playing into the organized crime hands. Poachers are extremely intelligent and very creative, they have the ability to manipulate officials and make more money for ivory. The poachers are highly cunning, have no morals, and have high ambitions to just make money; therefor they will do whatever it takes to obtain that ivory and that money that they think that they are entitled to.

These rhinos need to be carefully surveillance and protected at all times, just like every other animal that is on the endangered. On top of that, we need to be talking to the governments all over the world and make it illegal everywhere, and make it a serious felony for any of those who wish to bring harm to the animals.

Now, all of you that follow me on here and all of my social media accounts know that I am completely against poaching, and believe that it needs to be stopped right away before every animal on this planet becomes extinct. It makes me sick to my stomach that people think that they have the right to steal the life and body parts from a defenseless animal, all just for money.
Each month I will be showcasing animals that are going extinct and providing information about the whole situation and even provide links to where you can help protect these animals.

If you wish to sign the petition to save the rhinos, just follow this link below and follow the easy steps provided for you. Thank you for standing up against the poachers and defending the rhinos.

Prayer to Mother Earth (Poem)

Oh sweet Mother Earth,
Grant us your wisdom of this life we live.
Show all of us the ways of living simple,
and show us all the beauty at lies within each of us.
We are the seeds that you have planted on this earth,
Nourish us and create us into the trees and flowers you want us to be.
For right now,
We are being restricted from your nourishments and love we desperately need.

The Autumn Child (Poem)

* Photo taken by Tyler Rayburn

Her warm summer kiss has become a cold winter’s breeze,
Her brightly colored green leaves have become scattered orange leaves beneath my feet.
The sunshine is starting to hide more often,
As the moon and stars come out to play.
The skies are covered with gray,
And the rain trickles throughout the day.
No longer are there hot days,
For the next six months the coldness will envelope us.
No longer will I need the touch of ice cream upon my lips,
A mug of hot tea will help my fix.
I step outside after a long morning of rain,
With my cloak draped around my body.
I whisper to Mother Earth to bless me with her cold gentle kiss,
The kiss lifts me up,
Cleanses me and renews me.
“My Autumn child, you are blessed”,
She whispers to me.

Meditation: Winter Mist

It is nearing Autumn all over the world, and in some parts of the world it is getting cooler than other regions of the world. This meditation is inspired by the changing of the season and also a time to remove specific toxins away that you have accumulated over the past nine months of this year.

Sit in the lotus pose, with your hands placed on top of your lap and holding the Gyan Mudra hand pose (index finger and thumb touching at the tip). Close your eyes and let your body sink into your chair, let chair catch your back and just relax. Relax. The darkness that currently is before you is about to disappear and you will soon find yourself in a new place. Listen to your surroundings, do you hear an animal? If so, is it a wolf, deer, fox? Can you hear the sound of snow falling from the branches of tree? Listen closely.

As you sit in the lotus pose, keep your eyes close. However in your mind’s eye, in this mediation, open your eyes. Look around your surroundings. Look at the snow that lies under your feet, look at the snow covered dead trees, see your breath creating a mist in front of your face; and see the wolves, foxes, deer, and other animals wander about this quiet place.

Breathe in the cool winter air into your body, soul, mind, and heart. Let it settle inside of you for a moment, then breathe it out. Watch the mist swirling about in front of your face, taking away all of the toxins. Breathe in again, your mind’s eye begins to get drowsy and begins to close on you. Breathe out, and let the winter air envelope you one last time.

You’ve now arrived back to the darkness that your eyes have created. Slowly open your eyes, feel the sensation that the winter air left inside of you and in your aura. You have been renewed for the Autumn season.
