Let the moon dance on your skin
grant it access
let it sink in deep,
let it wash all your anxieties,
soaking you washing you clean,
leaving you with bare bones.
Feel the darkness be wiped away
feel your body become whole again,
let your fingertips be kissed
and don’t pull back,
welcome this soul cleansing,
this is what we all need,
to show that we all need love,
show we all need comfort,
to be rid of any anxieties,
we need to be washed
let our bones soak in the moonlight.
“Like this and I’ll follow you”,
Pose for a picture and pucker those lips,
“You look gorgeous!”
It is a constant thing,
no matter what you say there is always someone out there,
tilting their head looking for the right pic.
All to feed their vanity,
all to feed their constant hunger for fifteen minutes of fame,
but did they know that fame is dangerous?
No, they just care about the next like,
the next post shared,
the next “OMG, You’re so hot!”
I just hope they don’t fall down the rabbit hole,
because once they do they won’t be back,
it will be an endless line of clicks.
We are humans therefore we ache,
we are not some robot
who has no feelings,
who cannot cry,
who cannot feel hate.
We are humans who all wish,
we wish for the same thing,
we wish for love,
we wish for comfort,
we wish for someone to ease the pain.
We are humans,
we all have the same things
from a heart to a mind,
to blood racing in our veins,
so it is time to stop this war that is filled with hate.
Somewhere deep in my soul
there is something missing,
a piece that has yet been written,
a piece that is missing the notes,
as if a song were unfinished,
as if a poem were cut off mid-sentence,
as if a part of me was missing.
It is not my other half,
for I am not half,
yet, it is a part of me that is whole
just like I was born twenty-six years ago,
all I know is that it is currently blank,
yet, in the back of my mind
it will soon be filled just like the River Thames.
The snow is currently falling outside my window, and with the Alaskan mountains as the backdrop it is hard to tear away from the beautiful sight of the remote rugged terrain of Alaska. For the month of December I wanted to keep up the theme from last month of going back in time, and with this novel we will be heading back in time to 1946, when the second world war was ending, and a new beginning emerged.
by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows takes us back in time to 1946 in London, where a young author named Juliet Ashton is looking for a new subject to write about. While she is searching for a new subject to write about she comes across a letter that sparks her imagination, and even inspires her next book. The letter she had found is from a man that is from the island Guernsey, the man had found Juliet’s name inside of another book that was written by Charles Lamb, and wanted to speak with her.
As Juliet and her new correspondents continue writing to one another, Juliet begins to learn about their society, a society that is eccentric and worldly. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society was found at the spur-of-the-moment, when they were discovered after breaking curfew, the society had become an alibi for all of those who were in the group. Juliet continues to learn more and more about the group and each of the members, and she even gets to know them a little more personally when she asks them to list their favorite books, and even their opinions about the German’s who had occupied the land around them. After learning so much about them, Juliet sets off for an adventure, sailing over to Guernsey, and what she finds outs will change her entire life forever.
This book is truly one of the most unique books that I have read in a long time, and to be able to read this with the current backdrop that is my current town, it makes the novel even more fascinating and captivating.
She is a glimmer in my eye,
has been since the dawn of time,
for she is the daughter I foresee in my mind,
a lovely child with an infectious laugh,
brown curls that drip down her back,
She is only but a fantasy at this point in time,
however, I do know
that when I meet my partner
we will meet in the cosmos and bring about
this daughter of ours to life.
Creatures so tall they become inhuman,
covered with copious amounts of fur
and teeth the size of sharks,
it’s no wonder why we all shudder,
these creatures have become the monsters of tales,
yet are they the true monsters we should hide from?
Slicked black hair and piercing eyes,
watching our every move
as they move about in disguise,
these creatures are very much human
and the ones we should be afraid of,
for they are the ones who wield more power
then the creatures from ancient legends,
they are the true monsters of the night.
