Imperfections (Poem)

My imperfections shine so brightly
yet you still love me,
as your imperfections are non-existant
as you live life as if you had any.
I’m such a mess I know it,
yet you embrace them,
while you step forward
reaching out for my hand,
trying to guide us into the next step.

These imperfections of mine give me small limitations,
yet you keep pushing
showing me to see over the wall,
and see the next step ahead.
I’m such a mess
I know I will be throughout time,
you show me the value of my imperfections,
and where I can be in time.

Messed Up Souls (Poem)

Two messed up souls have found each other
seems like they had to wait a lifetime
choosing to focus their time on themselves
while waiting to find each other,
waiting on fate to intervene.

Two messed up souls dance
enjoying the beat
as it thumps into their feet,
dancing through the living room forgetting about their imperfect moves
time has no place,
clocks have stopped
as these two souls click into harmony.

Wild (Poem)

Curly hair that flows so freely,
as the sun dances upon her skin
kissing it ever so gently
as her soul and heart fly with the wind.

Her heart and soul jump on the waves of the wind
letting it take her where she is needed at that moment in time,
for she is no mere mortal
for she is a daughter of the wind,
daughter of the earth,
daughter of the sea,
she is meant to be wild
not grounded to the pavement with her two feet.

Igniting A Fire (Poem)

Before my eyes I see the most beautiful candle,
one that attracts my soul to theirs.
Before my heart I feel an urge
to light a fire to show my love for her.

I, as a match, strike the box,
igniting a light
startling her and I at the same time.

Lighting the wick on the candle,
a fire comes into view,
growing ever so brightly
throughout the nights
until our last breath.

Wherever my Soul Takes Me

I am the type of person who is always looking for the next place to travel, the next place to lay my head while I learn more of my holistic trade, help others, and write more poetry and stories. I am what most people call a nomad, wanderluster, a wandering hippie who wants to learn everything, see everything, and heal everything. And that is exactly who I am. I am constantly thinking about the next place I want to travel to, and experience the culture surrounding the area. It is in my bones, in my skin, in my heart, and in my soul. This is why I keep a handful of things with me, just a duffel bag of clothes and books, and a backpack.

For three years, I lived in New Mexico, in Taos for a good portion, and Albuquerque for a brief period. While I lived there I ended up going numerous adventures, one long weekend I got in my car and went to Utah and Arizona, and trust me it was amazing. I went to Colorado on numerous occassions to see family and friends, I traveled to Oklahoma to see my parents and younger brother. And at one point I went to California and had a great time. Now, I currently live in Alaska, situated next to Canada, above Washington, and a flight away from New Zealand and Japan. And right now, I can’t wait to see where my soul and feet take me next, because I live for adventures.

When you are nomadic at heart, you are bound to have endless adventures. And there is nothing wrong with that, because that is the soul you were born with. Where do you like to travel? Do you like going on long trips to unknown destinations?

Worn to the Bone (Poem)

I’m worn to the bone,
suffocated by the silence
that you left me in
as I stood in the middle of our home.

Just a stab of lies radiated from your mouth,
with you sitting there with a stoic face,
as tears fill my eyes
and glass broken all over the place.

I’m worn to the bone,
with my heart tearing
all I can do is be grateful that you no longer grace this place,
the place we once called home,
and can finally begin to heal
while I still feel worn out.
