Before The Sun Rises(Poem)

0dbfb797e8d764ea2e0265692131c146

It doesn’t matter how bright the moon shines,
you still linger,
linger in my memories,
desperately trying to drown me.

My only sorrow is that I have yet to
make a friend out of you,
and I don’t know what to do,
I need to know how to make amends
with the monsters in my head,
before the sun rises for another day.

My Brand New Poetry Book

Good morning everyone! I wanted to apologize for not writing a whole lot, this month has been very hectic due to work, studying for my Master’s, and working on the release of this new poetry book.

Today my brand new poetry book, Hearts of Glass, has been released by my amazing publisher, Middle Island Press. I have been working with the publishing press for the past couple of years, and they are truly amazing. They have given me the opportunity to release my poems out to all of you, and it had always been a dream of mine. I truly cannot thank then enough for letting me see my dream become a reality.

Hearts of Glass is poetry book that dives into the reality of the affairs of the heat. Showcasing just how fragile our hearts are, showcasing when we fall in love, out of love, and endure the most hurtful heartbreaks. And everyone can relate to many of the poems.

You can get your copy of my new poetry book on Amazon, and soon it will be available in select stores around the world.

Wanderlust Box (Poem)

A soul wrapped in a countryside box,
Placed with a bow made of a map on top.
Open the box and you shall see,
The bits and pieces that have scattered about,
Leaving the soul wandering for the rest of its eternity.

Poke some holes into the box,
Let it breathe,
Send it off,
And let the world shape it into who it’s supposed to be.
That is the only way we will ever know,
Who it will be,
Once they’ve reached the ripe age of ninety.

A True Beauty (Poem)

He had a certain type of beauty to him,
Not the hollywood glitz and glamour,
But a beauty that came through years of torment that resided inside.
Roughed up,
Spit out,
Thrown out on the sidewalks,
With women and men walking by,
Without giving him a shot.
This society we live in is corrupt,
It tells women to be brainless,
Tells men to achieve a hollywood staus.
Who are we kidding,
No amount of twilight sparkle will ever catch my eye.
Give me a man that will speak his mind,
Express raw emotion,
And for God’s sake,
Make sure he doesn’t follow society’s stupid pride.

White Lace (Poem)

I am here,
Waiting for you to come back,
Come back from the hallow halls,
Dressed in your three piece suit,
That you left in.

Not prepared,
Completely scared,
You left me at the altar,
Dressed in white lace,
With tears streaming down my face
As I waited for you.

Guess I’ll have to wait for you,
But not tonight,
While I’m dressed in white lace,
Certainly not with makeup smeared across,
Leaving the crowd with stunned faces.

You Went Along (Poem)

‚Äč

You went along with everyone,
To watch me on the floor,
To watch the glass shatter,
As I bled out the pain through my eyes,
While you began to slowly move towards the door.
You went along with everyone,
To dance the night away,
As you let me drown,
While you got wasted by the old memories,
As you danced till dawn.
You went along with everyone,
Sang the same damn song,
Mimicking them as you slowly disolved,
You went along.

Healing From the Core: Journaling

8699c0999f7229a351fa565356d9fba8

When it comes to healing oneself, it can be rather difficult to find something that you can vent to about your emotions, struggles, and the things that are plaguing your mind. However, most people overlook the one thing that they could do to help them vent productively in a non-violent manner, journaling.

Yes, it sounds a little strange for adults to be journaling, especially since the prime demographic is young teenaged girls and boys; however, there are plenty of adults who journal. In fact, I am one of those adults. I journal several times a week, my journal has become a book filled with different things from my meditation sessions that I just went through, my dreams, and overall, just my emotions in general. It helps me figuring things out on paper, and it truly helps, especially after I’ve written what I need to write down, I can look back and see what symbolic thing that is going on in my life at the time.

Journaling is one of the most therapeutic ways of dealing with everyday stress and just life in general. You can pour yourself out on pages among pages, without the fear of judgment or ridicule. In a way, journaling is a therapist that you can vent to about all of your problems, and just dive into what you are truly feeling. It can help you come to terms with a lot of things that you are dealing with internally, while also helping you deal with your past that you seem to be running from.

I’ve always believed that you need a journal that you resonate with, something that you feel connected to. This is due to the fact that you will be sharing your most intimate thoughts, feelings, and dreams to. So the picking the right journal will help you along in the process of healing. There are many places that you can go to find a journal from your local stores to online shopping, finding a journal that you feel comfortable writing in and venting to is highly important.

And do not worry what others will say if they ever find out that you journal, there is nothing wrong with it at all. In fact, it is perfectly normal to journal at any age.
